My name is Boryana Dimitrova McDonald. I am a business and marketing coach and a Marketing Professor at Drexel University. I combine academic insight and real-world experience to help purpose-driven small businesses build strategic, sustainable marketing strategies.

I hold a PhD in Marketing from Drexel University and am an Associate Clinical Professor at the LeBow College of Business. I’m also a mom of three, an immigrant from Bulgaria, and a dedicated yoga practitioner.

After becoming a parent, I was inspired to study brands that truly align purpose, sustainability, and customer experienceand to help purpose-driven businesses do the same.

Black Sea is a personal name rooted in my childhood in Varna, Bulgaria. It represents family, connection, and a sense of home. These are values that guide my work and approach to marketing.
